Tiered commission structures
Many companies use accelerators — commission rates that increase as you hit higher sales thresholds. This structure rewards top performance disproportionately.
- Tier 1: 5% on the first $50,000 in sales
- Tier 2: 8% on $50,001–$100,000
- Tier 3: 12% on everything above $100,000
